Research & Development

Lekam focuses on developing and providing affordable, modern generic drugs through extensive research in drug formulation and pharmaceutical analytics. Its reorganized Research and Development (R&D) Department, now housed in a 700 m² modern facility, is divided into two units: the Research and Development Analytics (RDA) and the Research and Development Technology (RDT) departments.

The RDA specializes in patent assessments, pharmaceutical documentation, pre-formulation, and stability studies, supported by advanced analytical equipment like HPLC, UPLC, and gas chromatographs, all adhering to GMP standards. The RDT focuses on pharmaceutical formulation and developing oral and inhalation forms in GMP-compliant zones equipped with advanced devices to ensure quality by design.

The department emphasizes innovation in modified release forms, administration methods, packaging, and cost-effective manufacturing processes. It conducts research in fields such as oncology, cardiology, pulmonology, and neurology, and also develops OTC drugs and dietary supplements. Lekam collaborates with universities, scientific institutions, and global pharmacy experts, fostering young talent through apprenticeships, training, and employment opportunities.
